Hello All!  Tonight, I am reviewing the Kiyonna Daydream Maxi Dress.  This boho confection is a romantic date night dream, perfect for a casual day event or a date night out on the town.  I also want to congratulate Kiyonna and celebrate their anniversary!!  Kiyonna is 23 years old this month and as a way to celebrate Kiyonna is giving back to their loyal customers with a big sale!  You can use coupon code 23YEARS to save 30% off your order of $100 or more, PLUS many of Kiyonna's best selling items are on sale for up to 50% off at Kiyonna.com.  Happy Anniversary, Kiyonna!!  Thank you for giving us plus size gals consistently beautiful garments designed to fit our bodies perfectly, thank you for helping us look and feel as glorious as we are!

Happy 23rd Anniversary, Kiyonna!

The Kiyonna Daydream Maxi Dress is a two piece maxi consisting of a solid black under dress and a textured chiffon overdress printed in a bohemian style floral pattern of white, blue and pink.  The bodice is a wrap style bordered in scalloped lace, a stretch lace band at the waistline gives this dress a lovely shape that is very curve enhancing.  The dress also features a pretty tie back, full, flowing sleeves and a long full skirt.  The skirt is gathered at the bottom giving the illusion of being one huge ruffle, this feminine and flowing style feels as dreamy as it looks.  I wore my Daydream Maxi Dress for an evening date, it was a bit different than my normal full pinup 50's style and my husband Kevin was very vocal about how much he loved this more laid back romantic look!

I am wearing my normal Kiyonna size, 2X which is an 18/20.  This dress fits me perfectly with just enough room to flow nicely.  The slip underdress is comfortable and soft providing coverage under the sheer bubble crepe of the top half.  The tie back feature is a pretty, romantic touch that is also practical, it allows you to tie the dress to adjust how the wrap style top fits and keep the dress from falling off your shoulders.  The sleeves are full and flowing providing nice coverage,.  This is a very long dress on me of course but although I am petite, I LOVE maxi dresses.  My second love in fashion next to pinup is bohemian, hippie style clothing so maxi dresses are another passion of mine.  I always wear heels or wedges when we go out because at 5'2' most maxi dresses hit the ground on me but I will confess, in a more casual setting, I love to throw off my shoes and enjoy how the dress feels flowing romantically around my feet.  This Daydream Maxi Dress is ethereal, just like the name says, it feels like a flowing daydream to wear.

The Kiyonna Daydream Maxi Dress has a beautiful bohemian floral pattern with shades of blue, white and pink.  I chose to play up the pink and blue of this pattern with my accessories by wearing a pink hair flower, bold blue floral statement earrings, pink cateye bohi  sunglasses and I finished my outfit with black peep toe wedge sandals.  Kevin and I had a lovely time walking the streets of historic Greenville, Michigan.  They have been working hard on revamping their historic downtown area and they have really made it look inviting.  The pretty blooming flower beds and artwork delighted us as we walked around town, I kicked off my shoes and frolicked barefoot in a cute little pocket park, then we enjoyed a delicious dinner at a local restaurant.  I was date night perfect in my Daydream Maxi Dress, I received a ton of compliments on the dress from my husband and a few other people, what a head turner!

Magical Mesh! My review of the Kiyonna Katarina Mesh Dress

Hello everyone!  I hope that you had a happy and safe holiday season.  I took a small sabbatical from blogging to enjoy Christmas and New Years with my family.  We had a lovely holiday season enjoying great times with family, tons of fun playing our traditional family games of Bingo and eating lots of yummy goodies! But its back to business as usual in 2019 and I am so excited to start my 5th year of blogging!

Outfit Details:
Dress: Katarina Mesh Dress in Paisley Motif in size 2X by Kiyonna
Earrings: Black Drops Earrings from Insomniac Creations
Makeup: Tarte
Lipstick: Besame Cosmetics
Glasses: Zenni Optical
I am reviewing the magical Katarina Mesh Dress in Paisley Motif Print from Kiyonna.  This feminine and flattering dress looks lux and feels like a million bucks.  The Kiyonna Katarina Mesh Dress is an A-line cut featuring an illusion neckline, a twisted waistband, flowing sleeves and a full skirt.  Made of breathable, stretchy and soft stretch mesh material, Katarina is a perfect balance of chic and comfortable.  This modest dress is great because it can be styled for almost any function.  I am feeling pretty in paisley in this lovely print, a burgundy backdrop features a paisley motif in black and white.  I kept things simple with black teardrop earrings, kitten heels and a vintage clutch.  This dress would also look lovely with a cardigan and ballet flats for a soft feminine feel or a blazer and boots for the office.  Styling options are infinite and that is a win for your wardrobe.

Simple and stunning the Kiyonna Katarina Mesh Dress fits and flatters.  I am wearing my normal Kiyonna size 2x.  Fit is very comfortable, this material has tons of stretch and the dress is very flowing so I recommend sizing down if you are between sizes because I could have easily sized down to a 1x because the cut is generous.  These sleeves are so much fun, they are cut in a bell like shape that makes them flow around your arms.  The skirt is also very generous, flowing out from the fitted bodice and the twist detailing at the waist gives definition and shape.

Kiyonna always means high quality.  The material, fit and design of the Katarina Mesh Dress are impeccable.  It is such a joy when a company does not just resize straight sized clothing and slap the label plus size on it without input or fittings from actual plus size bodies.  Kiyonna is an authority in the plus size fashion market providing high quality clothing that's designed perfectly for the stylish plus size woman!

Hello everyone!  Today, I am reviewing the Kiyonna Essential Wrap Dress in Nouveau Navy.  This classic full wrap style features princess seaming, an adjustable slimming waist tie and a flowing knee length skirt.  Essential is an apt name for this dress since it will become an essential in your wardrobe.  Timeless, chic, easy to wear, a breeze to style and versatile for unlimited wearability.

Hat: Vintage
Shoes: Thrifted
Makeup: Tarte

I love this pretty jewel toned Nouveau Navy shade.  I have been working on adding richer tones and solid colors to my closet.  I tend to see flashy novelty prints and florals first this solid jewel tone is a welcome change.  This Kiyonna Essential Wrap Dress is perfect because it is a timeless silhouette and the navy color can be accessorized in many different ways to cater to your own personal style.

I love the fit of the Essential Wrap Dress, it is adjustable, comfortable and the classic wrap style allows me to get the fit just right so it flatters my body like it was made for me! Made of a soft poly spandex blend this dress is stretchy, breathable and hugs your curves in all the right ways.  I love wrap dresses because they highlight my hourglass shape, this beauty really shows off my curves and makes me feel amazing.  I am wearing a size 2x, this is my normal Kiyonna size, it gives me plenty of room while still fitting nicely.  The sleeves are 3/4 length for nice coverage, skirt length reaches several inches below the knee on my petite frame and the adjustable tie cinches the dress nicely highlighting my waist.  I love the princess seaming, it gives the dress a touch of sophistication while giving the dress a flattering shape.

The Kiyonna Essential Wrap Dress is perfect for work or play.  I have highlighted how chic this dress is by styling it simply, all I added was a matching vintage hat for fun and flair, the dress is the star of the show!  Kiyonna has all of your everyday and holiday wardrobe needs covered, check them out!

Effortless Elegance! My Review of the Kiyonna Sunset Stroll Bellini

Affiliate Disclaimer: This blog contains links that when clicked on and purchased from may result in a small commission for this site.

Today, I am reviewing the Sunset Stroll Bellini from Kiyonna.  The Sunset Stroll Bellini is a lightweight wrap style cardigan with a hidden drawstring at the waist that allow you to adjust it to fit your personal style.  Wear it cinched closed as a comfortable gathered sweater or layer it as a cardigan over a tee shirt for warmth and style.  This lightweight cardigan is stylishly versatile, style it simply for cute and casual days or dress it up for effortless elegance at work or on a date.  The Sunset Stroll Bellini comes in a variety of seasonal colors so you can add just the right touch to your wardrobe.  I am wearing the Sunset Stroll Bellini in Black Noir, a staple piece in my wardrobe, this flattering cardigan is a must have to top off cool weather outfits.  I love the Sunset Stroll Bellini for fall in Michigan!

Outfit Details:
Top: Sunset Stroll Bellini in Black Noir size 1X from Kiyonna
Tee: Cabinet of Curiosities Tee from Blue Platypus
Jeans: Boot Cut Jeans from ANA via J.C. Penney
Earrings: Bad Girls Hoops in 24K Gold from Vixen by Micheline Pitt
Bangle: Leilani Bangle in White/Ivory from The Moby Duck
Makeup: Tarte
Lipstick: Red Velvet from Besame Cosmetics

I am wearing the Kiyonna Sunset Stroll Bellini in size 1x.  The cardigan is very generously sized and since it is made of soft stretchy Jersey, it has a lot of give.  This top is comfortable, cozy and easily adjustable so it always gives you the perfect fit.  I love the 3/4 length sleeve, they cover the arm but can be pushed up if it gets warmer.  The length is also great, the bellini comes just below my bottom, this gives me the desired coverage to hide my tummy which I am a little self conscious of in jeans.

The Kiyonna Sunset Stroll Bellini looks adorable over maxi dresses or my vintage outfits but I decided to take a leap into the modern day with this look.  I rarely wear jeans, but this adorable cardigan was perfect for layering over jeans and a tee shirt for a busy day of meetings followed by a romantic fall walk in the woods with my husband.  I wore it with a Halloween printed long sleeve tee, fitted boot cut jeans, gold hoops and leopard print accessories to give it a stylish edge, I love the casual elegance of this outfit.  I wore my Sunset Stroll Bellini cinched closed for the day and later I adjusted the drawstring and transformed it into a cute cardi that gave me just the right amount of warmth for a walk in the autumn chill.  It was a fun and welcome step away from my normal ultra feminine vintage style.

The Kiyonna Sunset Stroll Bellini is a versatile wardrobe must have that is sure to get tons of wear.  Dressed up or down it's the perfect topping for every outfit.  I love that I can get both figure flattering dresses and fashionable separates from Kiyonna, they have something to fit every style!

Plum Perfect! My review of the Kiyonna Helena Ruched Skirt in Plum

Affiliate Disclaimer: This blog contains links that when clicked on and purchased from may result in a small commission for this site.

Hi there everyone!  Today,  I am reviewing the Helena Ruched Skirt from Kiyonna.  This soft and comfortable pencil skirt is sure to become a staple piece in your wardrobe.  The Helena Ruched Skirt is a versatile midi length skirt made of ultra soft and stretchy microfiber jersey for perfect fit and featuring figure flattering ruching.  This skirt is definitely unexpected for me.  I tend to shy away from form fitting bottoms, but every woman's wardrobe must have a pencil skirt so when Kiyonna added the Helena Ruched Skirt in this pretty plum shade, I had to try it!

Outfit Details:
Top: Kelsey Flounce Top in Black Noir c/o Kiyonna
Skirt: Helena Ruched Skirt in Plum c/o Kiyonna
Clutch: Coffin Clutch from Sweet Midnight
Makeup: Tarte Cosmetics
Lipstick: Red Velvet from Besame Cosmetics

The Helena Ruched Skirt is absolutely figure flattering!  The ruching hides my belly outline creating a smooth silhouette and showing off my curves perfectly.  I felt comfortable and the Helena Skirt is so flattering that I was not self conscious even though this outfit was a huge step outside my normal style.  I am wearing the Kiyonna Helena Ruched Skirt in a size 3x, I sized up in this skirt because although my waist fits in the size chart for a 1x, I am much larger in the hip and butt area.  Fit is a little large in the waist but perfect in the hip/bottom area, the ruching is adjustable for a perfectly flattering look.  This skirt is a midi length, this hits me a few inches below the knee and the design of this skirt makes it stay in place so I am not constantly having to tug it down as I have had to do with other pencil styles I have tried.  Helena is the first pencil skirt I have truly felt comfortable in!

This Kiyonna outfit is retro inspired but more of a step into the modern day, it was fun to get out of my routine and I felt fabulous!  I was inspired by fall and the coming Halloween holiday.  Dark colors are another change for me, I tend to wear brights but I felt these subdued tones were very flattering. I love the pairing of the Kelsey Flounce Top with the Helena Ruched Skirt, it is smoldering.  I added simple silver jewelry, a matching purple flower to add a pinup vibe and a cute glittery Coffin Clutch for a touch of spooky style that fits the season perfectly.  I am loving the Helena Ruched Skirt, comfortable, flattering and versatile, this pretty pencil skirt is sure to become one of your favorite Kiyonna pieces!

Seasonal Style: Transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall featuring the Kiyonna Phoebe Flounce Wrap Dress

Affiliate Disclaimer: This blog contains links that when clicked on and purchased from may result in a small commission for this site.

Today, I am teaming up with Kiyonna to show you how to take your wardrobe from summer to fall with simple changes.  I am featuring the Phoebe Flounce Wrap Dress, a lightweight piece that is easily styled to wear for warmer months into the chillier season.  August is still warm here in Michigan but it is a month when the weather can be unpredictable, summer weather one day can change to chilly fall temperatures the next making it tough to plan around the weather.  This crazy weather makes it necessary for me to have pieces in my closet that take my dresses from season to season easily and with a minimal expenditure.  Another great reason to add a variety of accessories to your wardrobe is to take an outfit from one occasion to another and it also allows you to use fewer items so packing for trips is a breeze.  Because we were shooting for these blog photos while waiting on promised rain, time was in short supply and I made my transition from summer style to fall style in less than five minutes because I had planned my outfit in advance, this is how I look fab without tons of time.  Style does not have to be complicated or take up all your time!

First, I have to talk about how gorgeous this Phoebe Flounce Wrap Dress is, made of a soft poly\spandex blend, this wrap style dress is adjustable for perfect fit and feels like a dream on.  The flounce detailing and beautiful peony print floral are feminine and pretty with a sexy sophistication that made me feel confident and gorgeous.  I am wearing a 2x, this is my normal Kiyonna size and fit is adjustable so it feels like it was made just for me.  I felt amazing in this dress, I am self conscious about wearing more fitted styles but I love the retro feel, flounce details add flirty flair and the print is irresistible, I had to have her!

Summertime style:

Shoes: Baby Pink Peep Toe Platform Heels from Just Fab
Hair Flower: Delightfully Dainty Double Pink from Daisy Jean Floral Designs
Earrings and Bracelet are Vintage
Makeup from Tarte
Lipstick is American Beauty from Besame Cosmetics
For summer, I prefer to keep accessories to a minimum for comfort sake.  I have extreme issues with the summer heat so less is more when it comes to styling a summer outfit for me.  This is my date night style.  I wore my Kiyonna Phoebe Flounce Wrap Dress off the shoulder, I love off shoulder styles, it is a way to feel sexy without being overly exposed and it feels fantastic in the warm weather.  I styled Phoebe in a simple yet sophisticated way with pearl drop earrings, a pearl bracelet, a coordinating pink hair flower and baby pink peep toe heels.  I felt like a bombshell in a classic movie, I thought of Sophia Loren, the ruffled decolletage reminded me of her smoldering and exotic retro style.  This dress moves like the wind so it would be fabulous for weddings and any occasion that called for dancing!

Fall and Cold Weather Styling:

For Fall and colder months, I do not put my dresses away, I prefer wearing dresses so I have built a wardrobe of items that I can add to my dresses to make warm and stylish outfits.  My top accessory is a good cardigan, I own a variety of different styles of cardigans in a rainbow of colors.  I love the cardigans from MAK Sweater, they are a wholesale company that makes a huge variety of styles in an incredible rainbow of colors so you can always find the perfect match for your outfit or occasion.  I transitioned my Phoebe Flounce Wrap Dress for cooler weather by adding a long sleeve coordinating pink cardigan, royal blue hoop earrings, a baby pink wicker purse and tan ruffle accent booties.  This outfit is perfect for church or work and really shows the versatility of the Kiyonna Phoebe Flounce Wrap Dress, since it can be worn on or off shoulder and the wrap style allows for adjustment of fit you can take this dress from day to night or season to season easily.  Kiyonna makes so many amazing dresses with unlimited styling potential, I really enjoy taking my wardrobe from season to season, styling each dress in a multitude of different ways is a ton of fun and fuels my creativity!
