Winter Style with We Love Colors!

Hey everyone!  I know it's been a long time since I have blogged.  I have been struggling the last month with my anxiety, depression and the winter weather compounds some of these things.  After a visit with my therapist and scheduling to see my Dr I feel much better and I am ready to get back to blogging! It has been CRAZY here in Michigan for the last few weeks.  I managed to fall on the ice which put me out of commission for a couple weeks with a sprained ankle then that was immediately followed by some of the craziest winter weather we have had in years.  Michigan actually declared a state of emergency due to snow, negative temperatures and ice storms that knocked the power out in much of our area.  Ah, Winter, it is beautiful but treacherous!

 My first pair is We Love Colors Style #1008 is the lightest style I tried. This style would be my first choice to wear in the summertime for modesty but it is still a heavy enough weight material to keep my legs toasty on a cold day.  Style #1008 feature a 60 denier opaque leg and are 40 denier from the thighs up for extra stretch.  If you are not familiar with the word denier, it simply refers to the weight of the yarn used to make the tights.  The higher the denier, the thicker the material.  Anything below 40 denier is considered sheer, We Love Colors Tights products are at or above 40 denier which makes most pairs opaque.  These pretty Orchid Pink tights are made of the softest, stretchiest microfiber material ever.  I felt like a dream in this decadent outfit, these tights were perfect to layer with this sweet Ice Cream Dress, matching perfectly to add more color and texture to this already fun outfit!

 Style #1008 is opaque to the mid thigh then sheer so they stretch like crazy!  I love how this material really conforms to my body, even though I am quite petite, at 5'2" tall they do not bag awkwardly as some other brands have.  The waist band is stretchy, and comfortable it does not roll down or cut me off painfully.  I have often had issues putting tights on, it has often been impossible for me to get the legs on right while getting the crotch seam straight but these We Love Colors tights have enough stretch that they can be put on a bit more like leggings instead of awkwardly rolling them on similar to pantyhose, this makes it easier to get the seams straight so they fit correctly.  The difficulties I have putting hosiery on is usually what makes me steer clear of wearing them, We Love Colors are sturdy enough that they do away with these irritating problems.  They are seriously tough too, even though I accidentally broke a nail and scraped them while putting them on they did not run!

 Style #1023 are 70 denier tights in pretty white.  A bit heavier but not too thick these are a great style that is specifically designed with the plus size frame in mind, an updated and improved version of We Love Colors original plus size #1002 style.  I previously reviewed style #1008 here.  Comfortable and completely opaque, these tights will add warmth to any outfit.   I love these pure white tights against the wondrously lovely winter printed dress, but the beauty of white is that it will go with absolutely anything so I look forward to wearing these beauties over and over!

 Style #1008 were the least stretchy of the three pair in my opinion, I had to work to get these on but once they were on they were on they were comfortable and really cozy even when stomping around in the snow in heels.  They did go on much easier the second time that I wore them as they stretched out and held my shape after the first wearing. The waistband is thick so it does not roll down, these are thick enough with stretch so they do provide a bit of shaping which is really nice, I think it would be too much trying to wear shapewear and tights.  Super comfortable with no bagginess or pulling these We Love Colors tights are a really great way to add a layer of warmth underneath dresses or slacks in the winter.

 Style #1053 is the heaviest weight We Love Colors pair that I tried, 80 denier microfiber.  These heavy Nylon Lycra tights are opaque and perfect for the coldest of days when you need more coverage.  It was about 18 degrees outside when we took these photos and I was toasty warm in my pretty violet tights.  I love the bright and dramatic pop of color that they add to this outfit, bringing out the shades of purple in the floral.  It's easy to get into a funk in the winter and dress in dark colors but bold shades like this really cheer me up on a grey, wintry day!

Fit is just right..  Comfortable in the waistband, stretchy enough to fit easily over my bottom and not bag around my ankles or knees.   I have tried other tights that were heavier weight like this but they did not have enough stretch in the material to fit over my behind due to my proportions, I am so happy that We Love Colors material is strong enough to stretch comfortably without running!  The other lovely thing about We Love Colors Tights is that putting them on the second time is actually easier because they have stretched. These tights are also opaque enough to give modesty even in the shortest of dresses only becoming sheer at the top where they have to stretch over my large hip/bottom proportions.
