Cozy and chic! My review of Ye Mak Sweater and an exclusive discount for YOU!

Disclaimer: This blog post contains links that when clicked on and purchased from may result in a small commission to the owner of this site.

Today is the perfect day to talk about my favorite sweater because it's blustery, snowy and cold.  Spring was here for about a week, long enough for the daffodils to bloom but we generally get one last big blow out and it happened yesterday, at least six inches of show dumped on top of us, winter just loves to pick on us.  I am looking forward to getting back to work, honestly this winter has made it hard to blog, it really was one of the toughest ones we have seen in a really long time and since I shoot most of my content outside and at different locations the weather we had really limited my ability to take quality photographs, it was harsh!!  I have also been struggling with depression and generalized anxiety, the winter season seems to exacerbate both of these so that made this winter particularly hard on me, I really was isolating myself due to this and it has had a negative affect on my blog.  I apologize and I truly treasure those of you who have stuck with me in spite of these issues.  I look forward to doing lots of new stuff this year, including more video content, ,be sure to follow me on my social media accounts listed below so you do not miss out!  I have tons of great new content coming as the spring and summer season comes as well as a couple giveaways in the works, I am so excited to share!

The weather in Michigan is very unpredictable so Ye Mak sweaters are a staple in my wardrobe, they offer a wide variety of styles in both straight and plus sized options that flatter and look chic without breaking the bank.  I am thrilled to be a brand ambassador with Ye Mak Sweater becauset I started out as a customer, I bought three Cropped Cardigans, then a few more, then I was wearing them with almost every outfit so Ye Mak was kind enough to gift me some items to review for you along with a very generous discount!

Ye Mak Crewneck Cardigan

Ye Mak Sweater are a company that I have been a loyal customer to because of their selection, commitment to quality products and friendly customer service.  First thing to love about Ye Mak is that they love all bodies, their size range goes from size S-4XL.  Another thing to love is the broad color range, I love that I can take a print and change the personality or seasonality of it just by adding a sweater in a different color.  It is possible to match just about anything because Ye Mak sweaters come in a huge rainbow of colors and styles so you can get just the look you desire.  My sweater collection also lets me transition my dresses from summer to winter.  You may have noticed that Ye Mak sweaters have been featured in many of my blog posts and on my social media quite heavily, this is because they are such a versatile part of my wardrobe.  I do not have a huge budget for clothing so I have to stretch my dollars as far as possible, Ye Mak helps me get the most mileage from my closet!

I am excited to have a couple of exclusive items for you!  First is exclusive news, a little birdie has whispered in my ear, that Ye Mak will be expanding it's plus size variety soon so you can look forward to more styles in the expanded size range.  I am also super excited to be able to offer you an exclusive coupon code for 50% off your entire order at Ye Mak Sweater!!  Use code Briana-yemak-001 to get 50% off and now is the perfect time because Ye Mak Sweater is having a blowout sale up to 50% off so you can save a ton!  Happy Shopping!

Since Ye Mak Sweater has such a big selection, you are free to chose the style that suits you the best, I am reviewing my three favorite Ye Mak Sweater styles here but I would love to hear from you about what is your favorite and I would really love to see photos of you wearing your sweaters, check me out on Facebook or Instagram and feel free to DM me photos of you in your Ye Mak pretties!

All the Cropped Cardi Goodness!

My favorite and most worn style of Ye Mak sweater is the 3/4 Sleeve Cropped Cardigan, this style is my go-to because as a petite woman this cropped style is just the right length to flatter my bottom heavy figure.  The Cropped Cardigan is a scoop neck cardigan with a cropped  length that hits at the waist featuring 3/4 sleeves and a button front.  This versatile and cute little sweater is perfect for all occasions, in fact I am rarely without one in the colder months!  Soft and stretchy, I wear a size 1X which hits me just at the waist, the sleeves are just below my elbow and this size has plenty of room for me to button it up without gaping should I desire more coverage.  I love to pair my Ye Mak Cropped Cardigans in complimentary colors with my novelty print dresses and skirts, they add a whole new dimension while keeping me cozy and warm. Truly one of my favorite pieces of clothing, I have these Cropped Cardigans in a ton of colors so I can match my outfit to my mood!

Secondly, I am reviewing the Pattern Cropped Cardigan.  This gorgeous sweater looks like it came out of my Grandmothers closet with the pretty vintage knit pattern and styling.  Ye Mak Sweater really took it to the next level with this one, I have a vintage cardigan that is very similar in pattern.  I was delighted with this style when I first saw it because it is so feminine and it is perfect for the majority of my WWII era events, it is period appropriate when looking just so is a must.  The Pattern Cropped Cardigan features a rounded neckline, puffed 3/4 sleeves, a button front and a pretty retro perfect knit pattern.  This sweater is a bit heavier and offers more coverage than the cropped cardigan, so it is perfect for looking pretty on even the coldest of winter days.  The size 1X is again the perfect fit on my figure, hitting me just below the waist and the sleeves hit just  couple inches above the wrist so this gives me more coverage.

Pretty as a picture in the Ye Mak Cropped Bolero Cardigan

Last, but certainly not least is the Short Sleeve Cropped Bolero Cardigan.  This petite pretty is my newest favorite, I just purchased a couple of these and I absolutely love them for the springtime and summer days when I need a little warmth but not too much.  This Ye Mak style is a cropped length cardi featuring pretty puffed short sleeves, a V neckline and a button up front.  Adorable and so feminine, this style is great for those days when a sleeveless dress is not enough, this cute little sweater adds just a touch of warmth and modesty.  I wear my normal Ye Mak size 1X in this style as well, I have found that Ye Mak sizing is very consistent so it is possible to wear the same size in most of their styles, this speaks highly of their quality control because sizing can vary so wildly in the clothing market.  I will also tell you these sweaters are STRETCHY so they are very forgiving, if you are looking for a more fitted look in any style I would suggest sizing down because they will stretch a long way!

My Ye Mak Sweater collection will just keep on getting bigger because every chance I get I am adding more colors so I can have fun putting together a multitude of outfits with my wardrobe!  I hope that my review has been helpful to you and I would love to hear about your haul from Ye Mak Sweater using my 50% off code: Briana-yemak-001, leave a comment below and let me know what you got and what outfits you have planned with your pretty new sweaters!

I love this pretty jewel toned Nouveau Navy shade.  I have been working on adding richer tones and solid colors to my closet.  I tend to see flashy novelty prints and florals first this solid jewel tone is a welcome change.  This Kiyonna Essential Wrap Dress is perfect because it is a timeless silhouette and the navy color can be accessorized in many different ways to cater to your own personal style.

I love the fit of the Essential Wrap Dress, it is adjustable, comfortable and the classic wrap style allows me to get the fit just right so it flatters my body like it was made for me! Made of a soft poly spandex blend this dress is stretchy, breathable and hugs your curves in all the right ways.  I love wrap dresses because they highlight my hourglass shape, this beauty really shows off my curves and makes me feel amazing.  I am wearing a size 2x, this is my normal Kiyonna size, it gives me plenty of room while still fitting nicely.  The sleeves are 3/4 length for nice coverage, skirt length reaches several inches below the knee on my petite frame and the adjustable tie cinches the dress nicely highlighting my waist.  I love the princess seaming, it gives the dress a touch of sophistication while giving the dress a flattering shape.

Seasonal Style: Transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall featuring the Kiyonna Phoebe Flounce Wrap Dress

Affiliate Disclaimer: This blog contains links that when clicked on and purchased from may result in a small commission for this site.

Today, I am teaming up with Kiyonna to show you how to take your wardrobe from summer to fall with simple changes.  I am featuring the Phoebe Flounce Wrap Dress, a lightweight piece that is easily styled to wear for warmer months into the chillier season.  August is still warm here in Michigan but it is a month when the weather can be unpredictable, summer weather one day can change to chilly fall temperatures the next making it tough to plan around the weather.  This crazy weather makes it necessary for me to have pieces in my closet that take my dresses from season to season easily and with a minimal expenditure.  Another great reason to add a variety of accessories to your wardrobe is to take an outfit from one occasion to another and it also allows you to use fewer items so packing for trips is a breeze.  Because we were shooting for these blog photos while waiting on promised rain, time was in short supply and I made my transition from summer style to fall style in less than five minutes because I had planned my outfit in advance, this is how I look fab without tons of time.  Style does not have to be complicated or take up all your time!

First, I have to talk about how gorgeous this Phoebe Flounce Wrap Dress is, made of a soft poly\spandex blend, this wrap style dress is adjustable for perfect fit and feels like a dream on.  The flounce detailing and beautiful peony print floral are feminine and pretty with a sexy sophistication that made me feel confident and gorgeous.  I am wearing a 2x, this is my normal Kiyonna size and fit is adjustable so it feels like it was made just for me.  I felt amazing in this dress, I am self conscious about wearing more fitted styles but I love the retro feel, flounce details add flirty flair and the print is irresistible, I had to have her!

Summertime style:

Shoes: Baby Pink Peep Toe Platform Heels from Just Fab
Hair Flower: Delightfully Dainty Double Pink from Daisy Jean Floral Designs
Earrings and Bracelet are Vintage
Makeup from Tarte
Lipstick is American Beauty from Besame Cosmetics
For summer, I prefer to keep accessories to a minimum for comfort sake.  I have extreme issues with the summer heat so less is more when it comes to styling a summer outfit for me.  This is my date night style.  I wore my Kiyonna Phoebe Flounce Wrap Dress off the shoulder, I love off shoulder styles, it is a way to feel sexy without being overly exposed and it feels fantastic in the warm weather.  I styled Phoebe in a simple yet sophisticated way with pearl drop earrings, a pearl bracelet, a coordinating pink hair flower and baby pink peep toe heels.  I felt like a bombshell in a classic movie, I thought of Sophia Loren, the ruffled decolletage reminded me of her smoldering and exotic retro style.  This dress moves like the wind so it would be fabulous for weddings and any occasion that called for dancing!

Fall and Cold Weather Styling:

For Fall and colder months, I do not put my dresses away, I prefer wearing dresses so I have built a wardrobe of items that I can add to my dresses to make warm and stylish outfits.  My top accessory is a good cardigan, I own a variety of different styles of cardigans in a rainbow of colors.  I love the cardigans from MAK Sweater, they are a wholesale company that makes a huge variety of styles in an incredible rainbow of colors so you can always find the perfect match for your outfit or occasion.  I transitioned my Phoebe Flounce Wrap Dress for cooler weather by adding a long sleeve coordinating pink cardigan, royal blue hoop earrings, a baby pink wicker purse and tan ruffle accent booties.  This outfit is perfect for church or work and really shows the versatility of the Kiyonna Phoebe Flounce Wrap Dress, since it can be worn on or off shoulder and the wrap style allows for adjustment of fit you can take this dress from day to night or season to season easily.  Kiyonna makes so many amazing dresses with unlimited styling potential, I really enjoy taking my wardrobe from season to season, styling each dress in a multitude of different ways is a ton of fun and fuels my creativity!

Spring Elegance! Featuring the Sandy Heels from Ask Erica M Shoes!

I admit it, I am not a huge shoe girl.  I was born with Club Foot, because of this I have a love hate relationship with shoes.  I have wide feet that are very sensitive, add to that a penchant for tripping over my own feet and that makes me picky about shoes.  I have been trying to get my shoe wardrobe up to par with my clothing and accessory wardrobes and as I was shopping, I fell in love with these Sandy Heels from Ask Erica M Celebrity Shoes.  Ask Erica M Celebrity Shoes specializes in providing the trendiest, chicest styles in shoes and fashion.  A fabulous resource for staying up to date with fashion trends but also finding styles that are timeless, I love adding items to my wardrobe that will stand the test of time and never go out of style.

The Sandy Heels are sexy ankle strap heels that are classic.  Perfect for wearing with your most fabulous outfits, this style has a zip back and ankle strap.  I have wide feet and big calves but Sandy has elastic in the ankle strap so they fit my wide feet and larger ankles great.  I am always surprised when I get a shoe that is wide enough for my feet out of the box, I have had to stretch shoes and often they are too narrow to fit my feet period even after breaking in so I am thrilled that this style fits me so well out the box!  Sandy has a nice modest heel so they are not too tall, great for adding a bit of sexy without putting too much pressure on your feet.

Outfit Details:
Dress: Elizabeth Jacquard Evening Dress in Black C/O Dolly & Dotty
Shoes: Sandy Heels C/O Ask Erica M Celebrity Shoes
Earrings: Bad Girl Hoops in 24K Gold from Vixen by Micheline Pitt
Makeup: Tarte Cosmetics
Lipstick: Victory Red from Besame Cosmetics

I love these shoes!  I wore them running errands all over town and while enjoying a date day with my hubby. The Sandy Heels were comfortable and easy to walk in.  I rarely wear heels because I tend to be pretty clumsy (thus my perpetually bruised up legs!) so these are wonderful for someone who is less than graceful to wear out. The Sandy Heels were the perfect finishing touch for this elegant spring ensemble I put together and I cannot wait to style them with more gorgeous dresses this coming summer.  I love these fabulous Sandy Heels from Ask Erica M Celebrity Shoes, be sure to check out her awesome selection of high quality and stylish fashion!

Sweetly Scalloped:Blueberry Hill Fashions Tulip Top Review!

Hello everyone!  It's definitely a summer scorcher today in Michigan with the heat index reaching over 100 degrees with high humidity.  A perfect day to stay inside enjoying the air conditioning and catching up on indoor things.

Today I am reviewing the Blueberry Hill Fashions Tulip Top.  I own several pieces from Blueberry Hill Fashions, I love their beautiful designs, high quality and availability in many sizes.  This fabulous Tulip Top is no exception to the rule.  It has fast become one of my favorite wardrobe staples!
Outfit Details:
Top: Tulip Top in White size 14 by Blueberry Hill Fashions
Skirt: Pinup Couture Jenny Skirt in Mary Blair Yellow Train Border Print size 3x by Pinup Girl Clothing
Earrings: Yellow and Red Teardrops by Put on the Ritz
Shoes: Athena in White by Bearpaw

Made of durable and stretchy knit material, the Blueberry Hill Fashion Tulip Top is a beautiful addition to any summer wardrobe.  Scalloped edges around the entire top are pretty and girly, the off the shoulder style is super trendy and great for keeping cool on hot summer days.  This top is super comfortable and adorable as well.  I have worn it several times now, each time I constantly get stopped and complimented on my look.  I love when people take the time to compliment one another, it gives a boost to your day and it is a great way to make someone else feel good!
Outfit Details:
Top: Tulip Top in White size 14 by Blueberry Hill Fashions
Skirt: Twirling in Tulle in Melon Marvel size 2x by Kiyonna
Jewelry: Rocksbox
Shoes: Athena in White by Bearpaw

The material has a ton of stretch so I suggest sizing down on this top, I generally wear anywhere from a 16-20 in tops depending on the measurements and I easily fit into the size 14 Tulip Top.  Stretch and a great longer length make this the perfect top for wearing with any skirt or high waisted pant.  I love the versatility of the top, I have so many different skirts in many styles and it is flattering with each one.  I like to wear it alone or sometimes pair it with a wide belt to give emphasis to the shape of my waist.  The material is stretchy but thick so it is not see through at all, white tops can have issues with this.

I am continually impressed with Blueberry Hill Fashions, constantly coming out with innovative new designs and delivering super high quality garments; they are definitely one of the best companies to help you add beautiful and unique styles to your wardrobe.

Wardrobe fun with Gwynnie Bee!

It has been a while since I posted!  I have been taking a bit of a break to spend time with my family and friends, plus the winter in Michigan has made traveling a bit of a chore, so I took a much needed rest using this time to make plans.  I have tons of new blogs and photos coming your way, so be ready, I have such an exciting year planned!  My Husband, Kevin and I are starting off next week with a long needed getaway for Valentine's Day in lovely Allegan, Michigan at the Delano Mansion Inn Bed and Breakfast, a glorious home built in 1863.   I am looking forward to writing all about our experiences, I am going to have too much fun expanding my blog to include adventures in all of the lovely Michigan towns I am lucky to visit.  I want to showcase the natural beauty, great places, fabulous food and amazing atmosphere of my beloved home state!

I have not been entirely lazy during my break.  I have been having fun enjoying a free trial of Gwynnie Bee. Gwynnie Bee is a clothing rental subscription service for women sizes 10-32.  Gwynnie Bee is great for the fashionista in you, it is amazing having endless fashion at your fingertips, plus the subscription includes free shipping and free exchanges.  I have tried several brands from Gwynnie Bee that I have not purchased yet simply because I wanted the chance to try their clothing on before buying.  Gwynnie Bee gives you the opportunity to not only try garments and wear them, but if you really love something you have the option to keep it at a discounted rate, which I consider a really great option.  I might not always have an occasion to dress up but that does not stop me from wanting to, so I had a ton of fun trying all of these gorgeous styles even if the most pressing thing to do that day was run to the grocery store!  I think that this was a great solution to the winter blahs for me, giving me a bit of sunshine even on dreary days, it is important to do little things to keep yourself looking and feeling refreshed!  I highly suggest Gwynnie Bee as a great way to keep your closet fresh and try something new or different without breaking the bank.  I am sure that you will fall in love, I certainly have!!!

Hell Bunny Rosina Dress in Size:3XL
Dress: Hell Bunny from Gwynnie Bee.  Earrings: Mystic Teardrops from Ceci Punch Designs

I loved the Rosina Dress!!  The cute 1940's style with a flattering gathered bust panels, ruched waist and sweet button accents!  The fit was really fabulous and this skirt was to die for!  I have worn many Hell Bunny dresses in the past, the reason I keep coming back to Hell Bunny is because they are one of the best quality and most affordable brands of vintage styled garments available.  I loved the flow of the dress and everyone loved it!

City Chic Black Spliced Skater Dress With Cherry Red Trim Size:L
Dress: City Chic from Gwynnie Bee.  Earrings: Ceci Punch Designs
The Pixie, since 1948!
I had a Ranch Chicken Grinder with a Chocolate Cherry Milkshake, YUMMY!!!
I absolutely fell in love with this gorgeous Black Spliced Skater Dress with Cherry Red Trim from City Chic.  The style suited me to a "T", made of soft high quality material that flows and flatters!  I had a lot of fun on a day date with Kevin at the Pixie Restaurant in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.  I cannot believe we had never been to this fabulous retro diner that has been serving up food and fun since 1948.  The food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect for a vintage lover like me.  I cannot wait to go back and shoot more fun photos here!!
Be still my heart!!!!
I loved this City Chic dress so much I had to add it to my closet, I am completely won over!  I have wanted to try City Chic for a few years but the fact that there are not stores local to me to try on their garments had kept me from taking the plunge, Gwynnie Bee is the perfect opportunity to have fun with your wardrobe by trying new brands and even new styles without risk.

Cherry Velvet Dita Holiday Dress in Black and Dark Red Size:1X
Dress: Cherry Velvet from Gwynnie Bee.  Earrings: Roses by Premier Jewelry

The reviews for this Cherry Velvet Dita Dress on Gwynnie Bee were less than inspiring, but I had been dying to try Cherry Velvet and this style looked so lovely that I could not resist.  I found it to be pretty and flattering to my hourglass shape.  The material was not what I was expecting being a shimmery taffeta it swished in a fascinating manner as I walked.  I think this would be a lovely dress for an occasion where you wanted something with a lovely vintage feel but a bit more classy than just a swing dress!

Cherry Velvet Tatyana Dress in Shoe Print Size 0X
Dress: Cherry Velvet from Gwynnie Bee.  Earrings: Ceci Punch Designs
Photobombing Pomeranian Teddy was too cute to be cropped out ;-)
This dress is exactly why I wanted to try Gwynnie Bee.  I want to be able to take risks with my wardrobe and try new things without the actual risk of buying something with the chance that it will not fit or flatter well. Cherry Velvet is another brand that I just needed to try on before I bought, but both of the Cherry Velvet dresses I tried were lovely and fit me perfectly.  I always use measurements when I am choosing a garment size in any brand, each style can fit your body differently, this is why in the Tatyana Dress I am wearing a 0X but the Dita Dress was size 1X.  This is a perfect case for how handy it is to know what your measurements are, if you are ordering styles online you can purchase something that will fit well.  This dress was fun and completely out of my comfort zone with its criss-cross neckline, peekaboo shoulders and bright bold shoe print, but I had a riot rocking a completely different me for a day and I received a ton of compliments!  I will be adding Cherry Velvet styles to my closet!!!

I have been loving Gwynnie Bee!!  I will be posting more photos and reviews from the next batch of Gwynnie Bee goodies I get!!  Until then, go check Gwynnie Bee out, try their free trial and if you are like me you will be won over  because the fashion possibilities are endless!!!!
